outdoor heater

A Hot tub with a heater outside the bath is also called a hot tub with an outdoor heater, or Hot tub with an external heater. By means of a supply hose in the bath, water automatically flows to the heater as soon as you start filling the bath.

Hotub with an outdoor heater

A Hot tub with a heater outside the bath is also called a hot tub with an outdoor heater, or Hot tub with an external heater. By means of a supply hose in the bath, water automatically flows to the heater as soon as you start filling the bath. The stove has a double wall and therefore contains a lot of water around the seat of the fire. This creates a large surface where heat transfer takes place. As soon as the fire heats up the water, the hot water in the double walls will start to rise, just like warm air, warm water will rise and go up. At the top of the stove, the water finds an exit to the bath and will find its way back to the bath completely naturally. Once in the bath, the hot water will rise further and manifest itself on the surface. Due to this movement, the heater will slowly empty, and will automatically draw cold water through the bottom connection between the bath and the heater. The Hot Tub with outdoor heater is therefore heated completely naturally, no pump is needed.

How far can the heater be from the Hot tub?

We are often asked how far the heater can be from the Hot Tub. The main rule here is that the heater should be as close as possible to the Hot tub, ie about 20 to 30 cm maximum. By keeping the distance as short as possible, good circulation is possible and the stove will not overheat. If you maintain a longer distance, the heater could overheat due to a too slow flow, with all the consequences that entails.

How hot does the stove get?

The outdoor heater aims to heat up the water as quickly as possible so that you don't have to wait long to enjoy the Hot Tub. However, the purpose of this stove is not to heat up the environment. Since the heater is always double-walled, hot water will collect the heat and circulate it to the bath itself. A frequently asked question is whether the heater is hot on the outside. However, this is not the case, it is often best to compare the stove with a central heating system in the house. This one is warm, but you won't be able to burn your hands on it.

A feature of the internal TURBO stove with 3 large cylinders is that you have a good view of the fire while burning, standing at the Hot Tub you can easily look into the stove and have better control over the process. The filling mouth of the stove is large so that you can store large blocks of wood in it, and easily remove ashes afterwards.

Advantages of an external heater

Although the Hot Tub with internal heater has a unique appearance and can be very cozy and atmospheric because the heater is located in the bath, the Hot Tub with external heater also has advantages such as:

The inner tub itself is faster to clean, no stove and rack that attracts dirt;
The external stove is slightly easier to light;
More space if you compare with the same diameter tub;
Even more safety for children.

In general, the hot tub with internal stove is experienced as something more atmospheric or more authentic. The tub with external heater as more practical in ease of use.

We generally supply external outdoor heaters with an aluminum interior for the fastest heat transfer. Each outdoor hot tub has a double wall around the firebox. As soon as you fill the hot tub with water, the external heater in the double wall will also fill with cold water. As soon as the hot tub is filled, you start heating and heat transfer takes place through the aluminum inside of the stove. The water in the intermediate wall gets warmer and rises and circulates back to your hot tub via the top tube.

We supply 3 variants of external heaters as standard, namely:

Basic 35 kW aluminum stove
Turbo 45 kW aluminum heater
